Josh Vasquez likes to explore the meaning of life and death in his exhibition, Vida / Morte. Not only does he want the viewer to explore the depths of life and death but also some other symbols including femininity and masculinity, hard and soft, etc. Josh uses materials such as ink markers, clear plastic trash bags, wood panels, etc. to help make his pieces come to life.

The feeling of life and death gets brought out when walking into his exhibit because of the lighting, the use of white and black, as well as some of his nature themes. Specifically one piece placed directly in the middle of the room, including flowers to help represent life, while the skulls hung up on the wall represent death. His pieces also have been given their own life spans, where the flowers will not last longer than the paper underneath, and the ink will not last as long a the plastic bags. In Josh Vasquez vida / morte he was able to bring life and death to the viewers.
