Samuel Jernigan is a CSULB graduate with a bachelor in Fine Arts. He graduated last semester, and is now in the CSULB School of Art Ceramics program. Samuel’s art explores the feelings of loneliness as well as feelings of alienation in a culture. His passion for art is so strong and powerful at one point in his life he lived out of his car to be closer to his studio. Working long hours everyday in the studio.
Although many of his pieces can be seen as dark he has said he doesn’t create anything he doesn’t find amusing. Samuel works with brash representation through figuration and creating objects. Samuel stated that Disney is an inspiration of his, hence why many of his pieces actually resemble Disney-like characters, and the artwork brings feelings of joy out. Samuel’s art is truly inspiring and his passion for his artwork is an inspiration on its own as well. He is a respectable artist with no desire in the business end of the industry, but all in it for the art!
